Full-time Children’s Services Trainer and Assessor

Wave Learning is a family-owned and operated RTO, specialising in Children’s Services, First Aid and Child Protection training for over twenty years.

To support our growth, we are looking to hire an experienced and energetic, full-time Children’s Services Trainer and Assessor to join our growing team of professionals.

You will deliver and assess units of competencies within the following qualifications:

  • CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

  • CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • CHC50221 Diploma of School Age Education and Care


Training is delivered via face-to-face workplace visits scheduled to observe students and to discuss their progression. We currently have a vacancy that would be perfect for a trainer residing in the Central Coast region, who will support students from North Sydney up to Newcastle, Singleton, Cessnock and surrounds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Providing a positive learning environment for students to undertake training and assessment

  • Assisting and guiding students with their learning and assessment materials

  • Visiting the workplace to undertake observations, discuss the student's progress and answer any questions, discuss the student's status with the workplace and answer any questions, conducting, marking, and recording student assessments and providing student support.

  • Some zoom support for distance students will be required.


To be considered for this role, you must:
 

  • Be passionate about student focused education

  • Be well-presented and self-motivated

  • Have excellent communication and time management skills, especially with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Hold a Diploma or higher level Education and Care qualification

  • Have a passion for Early Childhood Education, with experience in an approved centre and understand the demands of the industry.

  • Hold, or be actively working towards, Certificate IV In Training and Assessment

  • Demonstrate an ability to engage with students from diverse backgrounds

  • Have a proven ability to support students

  • Have a Current Working with Children Check

  • Have knowledge and compliance with the VET Quality Framework

  • Have a thorough understanding of the CHC training package and industry requirements in relation to Childhood Education and Care

  • Possess a current driver's licence and clear driving history

  • Be proficient in MS Office Suite

The position is full-time, requiring 9am to 5pm availability Monday to Friday.
