2022/23 Summer Skills

Summer Skills is a fee-free* short course program for school leavers (16 – 24 years old) to develop job ready skills over the summer months. Whether you plan to attend university, look for employment or have a gap year, a Summer Skills course can give you the skills for a brighter future.

Fee-free* course options

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

Eligibility criteria
You must be:

  • a school leaver or

  • aged between 16 and 24 (at the start of training)


You will also need to be:

  • living or working in NSW

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder

  • signed out of school

  • Not currently completing a traineeship or apprenticeship

    (Training is subsidised by the NSW state Government under the Skilling for Recovery initiative)
