JobTrainer

Learn skills for jobs in demand. If you are aged 16-24, looking for work or interested in a career in aged care, digital skills, childcare and disability care, JobTrainer could be your opportunity to study a fee-free course.

Who is eligible?

JobTrainer eligibility has been extended to give broader access to fully subsidised training, for people who want to learn new skills anywhere in NSW.

Under NSW JobTrainer, you may be able to study a fee-free* course if you are:

  • aged 16-24

  • leaving school

  • a job seeker (you are a job seeker if you are out-of-work and/or receive income support payments or are expected to become unemployed)

  • a NSW Veteran or their recognised partner or spouse

  • wanting to study, upskill or reskill in courses in aged care, disability care, childcare, digital skills or training and assessment (regardless of age, employment status or current employment sector).

 

Eligible participants will also need to be:

  • living or working in NSW

  • an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen.

Summer Skills

Kickstart your career with short summer skills courses that you can learn online at your own pace or at a location near you

 

With the HSC all done and dusted in early November, you will probably have a bit of time on your hands. What better way to use that time than to test out an in-demand industry, get a taster of a future course and gain some valuable skills along the way with some fee-free skills training over summer?

The Summer Skills program has been designed specifically with school leavers in mind. The program allows you to dip your toes in to the vocational training world by exploring courses that interest you and help to gain valuable skills to take with you wherever you want to go.

That’s why the NSW Government is offering fee-free, industry aligned short courses for young people aged between 16-24 who have left school and want to learn new skills.

​

Heaps of courses and locations are available across a range of vibrant growth sectors including early childhood education, care sectors, trades, hospitality, agriculture, construction, business, fitness, digital literacy and more.
