Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care CHC40113 is the qualification required by educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs. In doing so they support the implementation of an approved learning framework.

This qualification will allow you to conduct vacation care programs, as well as before and after school care activities for children of school age.

School Aged Education and Care workers may work under direct supervision, as part of a team or autonomously.

This course will require you to complete a total of 120 hours of practical work placement. These hours will be on a volunteer basis, unless you are already employed as an outside school hours care worker, in which case you are more than welcome to use your current workplace and hours to meet the 120 hour requirement.

We also offer this course via distance training which allows you to complete it at your own pace with the support of a trainer. When completing your course via distance our trainer will be with you every step of the way. You will have access to them via email, phone or zoom Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
